	Amboise - on the Loire 10 miles east of Tours, tourist town with good restaurants and cafés;  visit the Chateau, le Clos Lucé, the Pagoda and the famous Sunday market.
	Chinon - west of Tours on the River Vienne, dating back to Jeanne d'Arc, see the Chateaux, visit the narrow mediaeval streets and numerous good restaurants.  Central for the Chinon, Bourgeuil and Saumur vineyards
	Montrichard  - a lively market town 20 miles east of Tours, good cafés and restaurants, central for visiting the Chateaux
	Tours - the capital city of Touraine and Indre-et-Cher.   Visit the cathedral, museums and numerous cafés and restaurants
	Loches - situated on the River Indre, it is dominated by its Chateau.   Pretty town with an excellent Wednesday market	click here
	Blois - capital   of Loir-et-Cher, this elegant city faces south across the Loire, visit the Chateau, its boutiques and restaurants
	Richelieu - interesting town south of Tours, see the remains of the Chateau of Cardinal Richelieu
	Saumur - historic town known for its riding school and chateau, and excellent wines, west of Tours and Chinon
	Angers - historic town best known for its chateau.  Classy shops and a nice square for coffee and lunches.
