All about each chateau 

Chenonceaux - the famous Chateau straddling the River Cher east of Tours.

Amboise - the beautiful chateau built by Charles VIII in the 15th Century has magnificent views over the River Loire
Villandry - famous for its gardens, situated west of Tours now easily accessible from our cottages by the new Autoroute

Chinon - this chateau, which dominates the town, is now ruined but provides a fascinating history back to the days of Jeanne D'Arc.  Lovely town full of timbered buildings and history including the place where the first french parliament was held
AZAY1.BMP (395658 bytes) Azay-le-Rideau  - this pretty chateau straddles the river Indre just south of Tours - again easily accessible from our cottages by autoroute
BLOIS3.BMP (396102 bytes) Blois - this chateau dominates this elegant town.  Shown here is François Ier's staircase
CHEVERN1.BMP (381366 bytes) Cheverny - famous for hunting, this elegant chateau south of Blois is fully furnished and provides an exceptional insight into life at the time
MONTPO1.BMP (383486 bytes) Montpoupon - this mysterious chateau south of Montrichard houses a hunting museum which includes a fabulous collection of Hermès scarves - this is only a ten minute drove from our cottages
USSE1.BMP (325686 bytes) Ussé - fairy-tale chateau west of Tours, said to be the home of Sleeping Beauty
Langeais - a mediaeval fortress well worth visiting!
